Viewing Information:

Each reservation is shown with a customer name and a color that represents the reservation status. The status colors can also be modified in the preferences window. In order to perform move, swap, and hold operations the user must right click on the customer name. This will bring up a pop-up window which shows the customer name, comment, status, etc. When the pop-up window appears, the user can click on the button that is underneath the customer name. This button will bring up the reservation editing window.

Navigating:

You can navigate through the calendar by selecting the start date drop down calendar, or by using the navigation buttons that are on the top of the window, on the menu.

Moving:

The user can right click on a reservation to bring up the popup window. On that window will be a button called “move.” The user can select that button and will see a list of open rooms to move to. If there are no open rooms, the user can select the swap button instead to swap rooms. In order to move a single day for a multi-day reservation, double click the reservation to edit it. On the rooms tab page the user can select a single day to move a customer.

Placing On Hold:

When the chart gets “too full” it is hard to move customers to the necessary places. To handle this, a “place on hold” function has been added. The user can right click on a reservation to bring up the popup window. On that window will be a button called “place on hold.” This allows the user to temporarily move a customer “off the chart” in order to successfully move other customers around. To restore these customers select the drop down from the top of the chart entitled “View” to “Rooms on Hold.” The customer will appear on this window and can be right clicked and restored back to the chart.

Colors:

There is also a button at the top of the window that shows what the colors on the grid represent. These colors cannot be changed here, but can be changed on the motel preferences window.

Swapping:

If the user is moving from one room to another and that room is already occupied, the user will be asked whether or not it is desired to swap the rooms.
